the "collective" explained
Due in May, Braxton stated the album will be released as a “collective.”Such a setup will see the singer pair with different labels on a non-exclusive basis to market and distribute each of ‘Heartstrings' singles.

That is a great Idea, b/c with this option Toni's new album will continuously receive the support she deserves ,plus it keeps the money rolling to the proper person Toni B"! lol Different labels will assure that she receives proper support for videos, promotion, maybe even touring .

the artists produce, own and retain all of their rights to their recording projects. Basically it adds up to more creative control and money in the back end for toni.

I am still confused.. but this is the way of the world in the music business these days. Some people put there songs on Bandcamp and just let people pay what they "feel" the song is worth. I don't think she is going that far but.. we shall see.
