Toni Braxton, "Pulse" (Atlantic)

Release Date: March 2010

After suffering from a heart disease-related illness in 2008, R&B singer Toni Braxton says she "didn't think I'd ever be able to do music again." But a conversation during cardiac rehabilitation with an upbeat elderly female patient who had survived four heart attacks helped motivate the singer to continue performing.

"That's when I found my pulse again," Braxton says, noting that her forthcoming album, "Pulse," is "sexy," "fun" and "testimonial." The first single from the set-her debut on Atlantic Records-is the sensuous "Yesterday," featuring Trey Songz. Braxton also tapped blue-eyed-soul crooner Robin Thicke for the romantic track "Don't Leave." "We've got this argument and we both realize we were wrong," she says about the song, "and we're begging each other to try and work it out."

Other favorites are the R&B-meets-country "If I Have to Wait" and the title track. Producers include Harvey Mason, Ne-Yo and Rodney Jerkins, says Braxton, who adds that she'll tour behind "Pulse" in the United States by late spring.

This is great news, well i love the song the way it is, but it would become sexier with a strong male vocal as well, the song will surely get more airplay (mix two fanbases)
This is a cover song, I cant remeber who recorded it first but this is not an original.

whats the 2nd cover? you meant duet? Toni confirmed 2 duets herself.

I am happy about the Robin Thicke duet. I'm a little worried though because maybe this means that "Woman" will not make the album cut since that would mean two covers are on the album and usually artists do not have more than one cover.
No, its a black guy, and he plays the guitar...I wish i could remeber his name but i cant...
