Permalink Reply by Doomsday on June 6, 2010 at 7:59am Just got back from the Toni Braxton concert which was in the rain. So there were a little technical glitches, nothing severe. Toni even went out in the rain a little bit. Great concert. Her voice was amazing as usual. I do not know all the entire set list. I was too mesmerized to remember...but I will give you guys a quick synopsis.
She opened the show with He Wasn't Man Enough. (Tamar and Trina were backup with the two dancers from her recent Hands Tied performances). She sang some of her older hits...(Just be a man about it, You mean the world to me, Love Should Have Brought You Home, etc.) Then she started to sing songs from her new album....first...Yesterday, she also sang Hands Tied (with the red ropes), Make My Heart, If I Have to Wait, Why Won't You Love Me, Woman, and Looking at Me. Of all the new songs...the crowd was really feeling Why Won't You Love Me.
The sad part is no one was really dancing to Make My Heart or Looking At Me. Toni seemed a little disappointed. She even said I wanted you guys to dance. After she sang looking at me, she was like I guess you guys are not ready for the new stuff because it might be too new. I felt bad for her, but the crowd was "older" (mostly late 20s and up). She did pull guys up on stage for Love Should Have Brought You Home and Breathe Again.
After her new songs, she sang You're Makin' Me High, Another Sad Love Song, Breathe Again, and closed with Unbreak My Heart (which the audience sang along).
That was the concert basically. She did some dancing. Her sisters were working it. No costume changes, she wore a strapless black dress, which exposed her cleavage, with a floor length skirt with booty shorts that exposed her entire leg and a lil booty. Her voice once again was flawless and I loved the fact that she went out in the rain.
As a side note I felt bad for her because besides the die hard fans which you could tell who they were, people were not crazy about the new songs, and she noticed. Atlantic needs to promote more and send her songs to more general audiences, not just adult R&B Stations. Regardless AMAZING CONCERT. I LOVE TONI!
